Party Time Cucumbers and Lavender Vinegar

With weather well below zero, today is a day to dream about new flowers to grow in our u-pick flower farm and new vegetables to grow in “Mom’s Garden”. Each year mom likes to grow something new to us or a new variety of something old. Last year Mom grew a miniature butternut squash (Eden Brother- Honeynut) that was delicious and just right for one serving. This year Burpees is featuring a 4-inch cucumber called Party Time. This is a perfect cucumber for our recipe for Lavender Sweet Pickles using our lavender vinegar. Miniature vegetables and small space varieties help to maximize the space in your garden and keep the bounty from being overwhelming.

Lavender vinegar can be used as a marinate for meat or as a salad dressing. The combination of the floral taste of the lavender and the sour taste of the vinegar adds taste interest and depth to a dish. Danndee Flower’s Lavender Vinegar is available all season long in our store or at any of our pop-up show events.
